Earlier: If you love Sour Patch Kids and Chips Ahoy! as much as we do (which is a lot, if we're being honest), then get ready to shock your taste buds with a great new sugary combination that's sour and sweet all wrapped up in one treat. There's just one catch — you have to wait until sometime in 2020. We're hoping it's January, but more details are to come.
Posted on Instagram account @junkfoodleaks_, the confectionary news went viral, and the photo showed a box of Chips Ahoy! but with a Sour Patch Kids cookie on it. The Chips Ahoy! Sour Patch Kids collaboration is limited edition, as shown on the box.
"I wanted to hate these so bad," @junkfoodleaks_ captioned the photos. "This is a concoction crafted only by those crazy enough to think that it could work. But you know what? It kinda DOES work. I don't get it. I really don't."
A reviewer who also tasted the cookies said you can taste both the cookie and sour flavors — both are apparent and yet work swimmingly together. The Sour Patch candies have shown up in DQ's Blizzard. Post released a Sour Patch Kids cereal last year, too. So should be be surprised a cookie works well? Perhaps not.
So, what do you think? Gross? Amazing? Either way, we hope we get to try them out in 2020.
