Dairy Queen Brings Their Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Back

Plus, more offerings for February and March are available now.

Depending on where you live, winter weather might mean that frozen treats are just about the first thing from your mind. But if there's an army of iced coffee loyalists willing to risk freezing their fingers to enjoy a cold beverage even amid a nor'easter, you can imagine there are probably a few folks out there who'd drink a Dairy Queen Blizzard in, well, a blizzard.

Just in time for mid-February and March, Dairy Queen is introducing a few sweet seasonal treats for both Valentine's and St. Patrick's Day themed Blizzards (and more), perfect for helping you endure what should hopefully be the home stretch of winter, especially if a certain Pennsylvania groundhog does not see his shadow.

First up for February is a returning champion, the Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Treat. Rich, red, and decade, its red velvet cake pieces, silky-smooth cream cheese icing and vanilla soft serve add up to something that anyone could fall in love with. If you wish that Blizzard was a bit more edible and you also have a date to impress, the DQ Cupid Cake (as opposed to a cupcake) may be just the ticket. Incorporating a layer of the aforementioned Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Treat with vanilla soft serve and decorative cream cheese icing, this heart shaped delight is sure to impress someone special with a sweet tooth.

For most, St. Patrick's Day 2021 will more or less mark one year since the reality of Covid-19 started to set in. That's going to be kind of a bummer, so maybe you should push those feelings to the side with a Mint Oreo Blizzard Treat. Mixing up Oreo pieces with creme de menthe and vanilla soft serve, this green Blizzard at least hints at the springtime, when we should hopefully be able to get back outside again. If you'd rather ditch the Oreo for a bit more of a chocolate taste, the revived Mint Chip Shake, which swaps those Oreo pieces for choco confetti chips, it's certainly something you could spike on St. Patrick's Day if you wanted to.

If you want to get a jump-start on either February or March holiday these Blizzards and various other treats tie into, you'll find them at participating DQ locations now. And if you want to eat that DQ Cupid Cake all by yourself, only god can judge you.
