Lemonade isn't exactly a difficult drink to make. If it were, then it wouldn't be the go-to first venture of pint-sized entrepreneurs. But even the simplest of recipes can be streamlined, and this recipe is a great example of that — all the ingredients are the same, but there's one major difference: you use the entire lemon.
Yes, we know it's weird. But for whatever reason, it works. Typically, you avoid citrus pith in recipes due to its bitterness, but somehow — even using a whole lemon — this 'ade is just as sweet as any other.
How to Make Whole Lemon Lemonade
Ingredients:
- 2 lemons, quartered and seeded
- 6 cups cold water, divided
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups ice
Process the lemons, sugar, and 4 cups of the water in a blender until completely smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher and discard the solids. Stir in the ice and remaining 2 cups of water.
