Kit Kat's New Flavor Is Basically a Breakfast Food

Does this count as a complete breakfast?

In a world of hamburger-flavored potato chips and snack cake-flavored cereal, Kit Kat is introducing a cereal-flavored candy bar: the new Kit Kat Fruity Cereal.

It's not clear if the fruity cereal in this creation is of the toucan variety, or if it was inspired by a specific Saturday morning cartoon, but the flavor is meant to capture a saccharine spoonful of fruity cereal that's dripping with ice cold milk. And capture it this candy bar does.

The Kit Kat Fruity Cereal is the latest innovation from a candy creating team that's already released a Key Lime Pie flavor and Kit Kat Thins this year. (That's after a year that saw the release of Birthday Cake and Lemon Crisp, among others.) We're not even half way through 2021 yet, so the rest of the year is sure to be flavorful and exciting.

The Hershey's team (that's who makes Kit Kat in the U.S.) says this candy bar "brings together your favorite morning treat with the light and crispy wafers from a Kit Kat."

We taste tested the candy already and can confirm it's full of that cereal milk flavor you know and love from childhood (or, OK, adulthood). It's very fruity, with the comically bold flavors of orange, lemon, and lime. These would be so fun for birthdays or as decoration around cakes. The warm pink color of the creme is also darling for cupcake toppers.

If you want to try the new Kit Kats for yourself, you'll be able to soon — but only for a limited time. They'll be on shelves this month, but it's not clear how long they'll last. If you want one, have your $1.09 ready, and grab a bar when you see it.
