I baked crust like many other suggested prior to filling. Let it cool first. And I lightly smoothed inner layer of strawberry filling all over cake. Topped gently with next layer then used the circle of purée and swirled out. Looked just like the pic. Very pretty! Had extra cream to put on top and was a hit with family.
Make sure to heat butter first I used 400 degrees and then filled and put back in oven at same temp for 15-20 min. They filled out nicely and tasted delicious
Yummy and we add cloves and mixed shortening and butter to recipe. Doubled it up and put brown sugar on top. Crispy on outside and and a little chewy on side. We love ginger cookies at my house.
I doubled batch as cookies just disappear at our house. I add cream of tartar about 1/2 tsp for dble batch and almond extract 1tsp. I decreased the sugar to just under 3/4 cups. Omg they look and taste awesome. I am going to dip half in dark chocolate. Have never mastered these before wondering if it is the kitchen aid mixer we got. They were never this beautiful consistency before. So easy too!
