Great recipe with 2 modifications. My daughter and I were reading the comments and looking at the other user contributed photos and saw that the two main complaints were that 1) their bread didn't rise properly, and 2) larger breads were still doughy inside even thoug they were brown on the outside. So I looked at the recipe and saw there was no sugar for the yeast to grow. We fixed the rising problem by adding 3 TB of yeast to the recipe. Our breads rose up just fine! And I turned down the heat on the oven to 350F, so they cooked slower (yes, longer) and were done in the middle without being burnt on the outside. Our bread bowls turned out fluffy and perfect, and we were able to eat the bread from the middle with our soup.
This recipe turned out great even though I used some inferior (really low quality) ingredients. Some cheap baking mix with lumps in it was given to us and it still worked in this! I used apricot nuts instead of pecans and it turned our great. The apricot nuts gave it a slight amaretto flavor.
