Doubled the recipe. Loved it! Instead of cutting up the veggies for the holy trinity, I just purchased a bag of frozen ones. I used shrimp instead of chicken
I doubled the recipe. The store didn't have cream of broccoli so I used 1 can of cream of mushroom and 1 can of cream of chicken. For seasoning, I added garlic pepper, onion powder, and Himalayan salt. In the end, it was very good. GF kept raving about it.

First time to make this. We really enjoyed it. The only changes I made to the sauce was to use hot (instead of mild) salsa, added some red pepper flakes (leftover from the previous pizza night) and the rest of a package of 'real' bacon pieces. I also added a couple spoonfuls of tomato puree (because I had some extra in the fridge) to the chicken mixture. Puree or not, mix the taco seasoning with the chicken to give the moisture from the chicken time to rehydrate the seasonings in the taco seasonings, otherwise you might get crunchy pieces at mealtime. Overall, it was a good recipe and I'd definitely make it again.
I really liked this recipe. The only changes I made was to add some diced onion, celery and carrots. I sauteed them first and then continued with the recipe. Also I used 2.5 cups of milk and .5 cup of heavy cream.
Loved this recipe. After reading from many reviewers that the 'soup' was a bit thin, I peeled 3 potatoes and added them with the rest of the ingredients to the pot. After simmering for over an hour, the potatoes pretty much fell apart and helped to thicken the soup. It was still a bit soupy and I wasn't sure my crowd would approve. It needed to be more creamy or cloudy so I added a large can of cream of chicken. The dumplings turned out great. So airy. I was concerned that the dumplings were going to stick together because I had to crowd them into the pot (I had upped the servings to 6). They didn't stick together at all.
