As is, it’s wonderful! I’ve now just begun switching things up, depending on the ingredients I have, and it’s still good. We use roasted garlic, and I’ve added sour cream, too. Deliciousness! I didn't have large lemons, just the lemons from a neighbor's tree, so I juiced enough for 1/2 c. like recommended. I also used almost a cup of whole milk and the rest water cause I didn't know if I should stick with water or do all milk. I also used a tsp of cream of tarter when making the meringue to help with weeping. I totally forgot the lemon zest, which I actually took the time to get. Anyway, it took forever to juice all those little lemons and get the seeds and pulp out, but I had my kid help with mixing the meringue. Overall, I'd say it's worth it. I'll be making this again.
