Boiled gnocchi is expected, this pan fried is unexpected and my new standard! Crispy bits with wholesome butter and veg with each bite. I used half spinach and half French sorrel from my garden. This recipe goes to the top of the list and will be hand written into my hard bound cookbooks!

I buttered a corningware plate, salted and cooked the jicama strips for 11 mins, checking on them now and then. I then meant to eat one... but ate them all. No starch guilt! Will experiment with different spices in future, salt was great, but zatar might be interesting too!

While this is cooking it smells like peanuts and marshmallows! I make a lot of jams so this bread is handy to help use up my stocks.i made my loaf with marmalade. Amazing. Proves how versatile this recipe is. I also swapped out one cup of the flour for white flour, and I didn’t add any vital gluten. Made a tender loaf that still hangs together for cutting. The peanut flavor is not strong, just toothsome. I am going to try making French toast with it too...though it is flat out delish just with butter and a cup o’ something hot.

Lots of dandelions in my un-poisoned front lawn for this foragers recipe! A useful activity for the kids to help with and create a midday snack.
