Helpful (0) Jicama Zebra Fries 08/27/2020 I buttered a corningware plate, salted and cooked the jicama strips for 11 mins, checking on them now and then. I then meant to eat one... but ate them all. No starch guilt! Will experiment with different spices in future, salt was great, but zatar might be interesting too! I make a lot of jams so this bread is handy to help use up my stocks.i made my loaf with marmalade. Amazing. Proves how versatile this recipe is. I also swapped out one cup of the flour for white flour, and I didn’t add any vital gluten. Made a tender loaf that still hangs together for cutting. The peanut flavor is not strong, just toothsome. I am going to try making French toast with it too...though it is flat out delish just with butter and a cup o’ something hot.
