This is my second time trying to make these. My aunt used to make them all the time and they were delicious. Now when I make them I follow this recipe to the T and they look awful. The cream cheese mixture is runny with a like chunk curds of cream cheese. This happened both times I’ve tried this recipe. Any tips would be appreciated. I live in high altitudes and that is all I can think of why mine never turn out.
Ok so I made this twice the first I did exactly as the recipes states and it was pretty good. Although my biscuits never cooked all the way through. The second I added one can of chicken stock to the original recipe and added my dough immediately so it cooked through and oh wow! It is sooooo good!
Very good basic recipe. I did tweak it a bit as it wasn't very flavorful by itself. I cut the recipe in half as well and it made plenty. Since people seemed worried about the thickness I started with whisking butter and flour to start a thick base then added everything else. I also added garlic powder, dried onion, and a little chili powder.
So delicious and easy! Next time I'll use 3-4 cans of peaches instead of 2. I sliced the butter into thin pads and covered the top with them, came out perfect!
