I used this recipe yesterday with no change to the ingredients. I wanted hamburger buns so divided the dough in to 8 pieces. Before putting in the oven to bake, I used an egg white wash on the top. They were baked in a convection oven at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. As soon as they came out of the oven, I brushed them with butter. My husband and I feel these are the best buns we have ever eaten. Next time, I'm going to use the same recipe, dividing into 16 parts for rolls. Try it!
Absolutely fantastic! I took it to a friends' house to have for a dinner party dessert. It was a hit! I used fresh blackberries, frozen raspberries and blueberries slightly thawed. I added some extra blackberries. I feel, the 'real' butter makes a big difference. I know 1 1/2 cups seems like a lot, but do it!
I thought I would give these a try as I had 2 ripe bananas on the counter. They were a little drier than I would like but probably mostly due to being short 1 banana.
The only change I made was to use butter which I use in everything anyways. It is such a quick recipe and works really well to just 'drop'. There is no need to do them any other way!
The meat was very tender but the flavour was a little lacking. I made 2 bags - one to make and taste the flavour, the other to adjust if necessary and freeze. I have added some hoisin sauce to the freezer bag and will try it at a later date.
