This recipe is SO good! My 4 year old loved it and my husband suggested making another batch and freezing the burritos so we could have them for easy to heat breakfasts. I only made a couple of tweaks and it would have still been delicious without, but I added just a little extra potato and cooked up some breakfast sausages in the pan first and then sliced and added them in at the end. I ate mine without the tortilla and it was still amazing!
Not sure if it’s just the box I bought or if that’s the way it comes now in general, but the brownie mix I have is about 4oz bigger than the one listed in this recipe. I figured I’d have to make some adjustments and once I started mixing I could see that I would for sure. I did a double batch (2 boxes of mix) so I added an extra egg and 1T each of water and oil to combat the dryness. The cookies turned out flatter than what’s shown in the picture and I did have to cook them for a few extra minutes but OHHHH my goodness are they delicious! So so good! They’re chewy but soft and the flavor is excellent. I loved the tip about freezing the kisses before putting them on the cookies, that helped a lot. I’d love to figure out more accurate ratios for the liquids next time but I absolutely will make these again. I used a small Wilton cookie scoop and the double batch yielded 37 cookies total for me.
So delicious! The only change I make is omitting the tomato because my husband doesn't like them but otherwise I make it just as the recipe states and it's so good! I've found the chicken stays more moist when cooked for the longer duration on low.
DELICIOUS!! Personal preference made me tweak this just a bit but I'm sure my results are very similar to the recipe as written. I used turkey kielbasa (so I didn't boil it first), I made mashed red potatoes with a little garlic added instead of instant, and I had an open brick of cheddar already so I used that. This was seriously so tasty and so simple. I paired it with some asparagus and it was a perfect, filling meal.
This was so easy and really tasty! The only thing I'll do differently next time is increasing the amounts on the spices and adding them to the meat while it's cooking with the onion instead of with the other ingredients. I used two lbs of beef and a little extra on the other ingredients as well (12oz salsa, a bag of frozen corn) and it made an enormous casserole - I used a 4.8 quart dish and it was probably enough for 6-8 people.
