This was easy to make and absolutely delicious! I used caramelized onion avocado oil, bourbon balsamic vinegar, and salt-free Sunny Herb Blend instead of the Italian seasoning (all three from Red Stick Spice Company in Baton Rouge) and the results were fabulous!
I will definitely make this again. Being cooped up because of COVID-19 going around, I made it from what was on hand. I used frozen biscuits and made my own gravy after cooking the sausage. I used a pint of half and half in the gravy. There was probably more cheese than needed because I had to use slices, but it still tasted delicious! When I do it again, I’ll make more gravy, add more eggs, and cut back on the salt a bit.
Delicious! I loved the crunchy toast—I used butter bread—and the buttery asparagus. I found them too filling when I slathered on the cream cheese, so I cut back a bit. I also tried making them with puff pastry (my first time working with this) but I liked the toast better. However, using the extra cream cheese mixture in little puff pastry pockets was a happy little result of the experiment!
This will be a perfect dish to take to a shower or ladies group. Thanks for sharing!
I used hickory smoked Spam and left out the soy sauce because I forgot it but my family loved this dish. My dad raced about it and my teenage daughter came in and ate all of the leftovers!

Oh my goodness!!!!! This is the best tasting and best smelling recipe that I’ve come across in a long time. I made it for my dad’s Bible study group (after checking out several pieces first!) and there was not a scrap left from a double batch!
Nobody has talked about the bacon being sticky (duh, right?) but I was afraid it would stick together in the mason jar vases I had it in. I also didn’t know about storing it. So, I put it on a parchment lined baking sheet in and stacked the layers between parchment paper then put them in the fridge. It came clean and didn’t seem to stick at all.
I made this with chicken breasts and added some parsnips and yellow squash to the mix. I also cooked the chicken on the stove while the veggies roasted, as I couldn’t quite bring myself to put raw chicken on the vegetables. It all turned out wonderfully with very little left over.
