Sweet and Salty Honey Toast

This is an absolutely delicious breakfast treat with a cup of coffee. Easy and elegant- what more could you ask for? I know, I know; salt on toast sounds awful. BUT it really brings out the sweetness of the honey and butter. It's best to use fresh cracked sea salt for optimum flavor. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces rye bread (without seeds)

  • 1 tablespoon butter, divided

  • 2 tablespoons honey, divided

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt,divided

Directions

  1. Toast bread until lightly golden.

  2. While still warm, spread each piece with the divided butter. Top with honey, and spread.

  3. Sprinkle each piece with sea salt, and enjoy!
