I think this is a wonderful recipe; easy, tasty, and not too sweet. I made more by making 11/2 recipe. Added a little coconut and Carmel flavoring. I’m sure to make this again and again!
I didn’t try original recipe but made changes based on reviews and personal preference. These are my favorite cookies! I did make quite a few changes: increase flour and baking soda, decrease salt, added 1/4 cup flax meal, 1/4 shortening, 2 tbs egg whites. Used ground up oatmeal. Leave cookies on sheet to cool makes them soft, not crunchy.
I was very happy with this recipe. I did tweak it a bit, maybe didn’t add as much cheese and cooked 8 minutes. Maybe cook 9 minutes next time as noodles a bit rubbery. I did do instant release pressure cus was n a hurry. As a result of tweaking was a bit soupy but just glad it didn’t stick or burn. I will make it again in my Instant Pot, pressure cooker!
This was very tasty. I will make it again and again. The syrup added to apples and atop crust is what makes it so tasty. Make sure you have a great crust recipe. I have one that uses butter and much better than oil or shortening.

I think this is better if you add a little brown mustard, salt and butter
