Excellent results. I reduced the sugar as another review suggested and baked in 2, 9 inch pans. This is what the pre-packaged shortcake is trying to be. Easy to make, too.
Easy and good. I made it quickly and as others suggested I added cinnamon sticks, cumin, and coriander, about 2 taps of each. Cooked my potatoes in beef broth in the microwave while the beef cooked, so it came together in about 25 minutes. I served it on naan with feta (had no paneer) and it was great.
So I read this and decided to skip a bunch of steps, essentially putting a half-thawed roast into my enamel Dutch oven, coat it with seasoning of your preference, and put a layer of onion and a sliced carrot in the botoom.
This is very good and a quick supper. I used the base recipe and added more veggies, including sweet potatoes, frozen peas, red pepper & edamane. It turned out very good and was easy to make. Reheats well. Frozen diced chicken works well if you don't have fresh.
Loved this cake! I went with the original version and only altered it to cut down on the fat & sugar content. Still tasted amazing and was just like a devil's food cake mix, without all the processing and chemicals. I subbed 1/3 applesauce, 1 cup of Splenda, and 1 cup of milk, for half of the original ingredients (1/3 short + 1/3 applesauce, etc). Worked out well and I used a cream cheese chocolate frosting. Fantastic and I'll make it again. Thanks, Jeanie for sharing!
LOVED this! You definitely don't miss the meat, and if you puree the beans before mixing with rice, then it's even better. My husband doesn't like beans, so I did this and he didn't mind. I also followed other suggestions and substituted veggies with salsa slightly drained and used regular enchilada sauce, along w/corn tortillas. Delicious and fast to make.
excellent recipe. These turned out great. I cheated and used the pre-cut cole slaw mix, but otherwise very good. I spiced mine a little with some ginger and garlic. If you don't like fried egg rolls, I sprayed mine with cooking spray and baked at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. My husband said they taste great and he doesn't miss the fried.
We really liked this, especially my husband. It's an easy recipe, ingredients are common, and fast to cook. I took the suggestions of other reviewers and cut down the sugar/syrup amount by a tablespoon or too. All turned out well. With leftovers, I used the pork for souvlaki (pita stuffed with meat, feta, and tziki sauce) and it turned out well, also.
