Fantastic recipe. I won my family's annual rib competition with this. The only changes I made were as suggested, used kiwi and a splash of rice vinegar instead of Asian pear because the pear is hard to come by in my town. I also added ginger to the marinade. This recipe is so easy and delicious it will definitely be one of our go to lunches.

I was looking for a starting point and this recipe delivered. I had some spicy pickling spice I wanted to use so I left out the bay leaf and used it instead. I also added chopped red jalepenos. It made for a deliciously spicy egg. Will definitely do these in a regular basis. The week waiting period is a must. Our eggs developed an even better flavor after 8 days.

This is a very good recipe, easy and really tasty. I used finely shredded cabbage instead of coleslaw mix and sautéed the onions and garlic with the sausage but otherwise stuck to the recipe as shown. It was a big hit with my hubby.

This recipe is wonderful! I used Red wine because I didn't have any Sherry (I agree with others, this is definitly not optional, it made the meal!) and I used fresh Thyme instead of dried. Otherwise I wouldn't change a thing. The broth was wonderful, flavourful and not as salty as the ones I've had before. This goes into our favorites for sure.
