Super simple, even for a novice. Made as advised but added sliced olives, halved heirloom tomatoes, fennel and basil to the top as well as rosemary. Used roasted garlic olive oil for extra depth of flavor. Delicieux!

This is such an easy recipe and much quicker to make than expected. We went all out and added 6-9 strips of bacon, and sliced baby Portabella mushrooms. I used both chopped and minced clams to test, and decided I prefer the chopped. As is common on the west coast I served the chowder in bread bowls (Asiago bakery bread). I used just 1/2 and 1/2 but may try adding heavy cream in order to create a thickness without adding additional flour. The whole family LOVED it, and it's now on the twice monthly dinner menu!
