I made these with King Arthur gluten free flour. The addition of a liquid to the dry ingredients gave me pause, so I ground up two anise seed pods instead of using anise extract.
These are warm and spicy and delicious!
We have gluten and dairy allergies, so I skipped the heavy cream and used gf flour. This was delicious. Even the kids (9, 9, 7, 5, & 5) gobbled it up. I’ve added it to my saved recipes and printed it. Fantastic.
I've tried many different recipes for cucumber salad, and this one packs the most flavor. I guess the secret is in boiling the liquid first. Works for us!

The only changes I made were using cukes from our garden, using a red onion, and using chopped up dried dill, about a tbsp. It was delicious. Perfect balance of flavors.
