This casserole was a big hit with our family. The only changes I made to the recipe was to brown 1 pound of hamburger with 3TBS taco seasoning and 1/3 cup water and 1/2 Tsp of fresh ground nutmeg.I spread the browned meat on top of the first layer of chilies and then followed the original recipe.

I followed the recipe exactly except I only used chicken thighs because that was all I had on hand. It is delish! Highly recommend this recipe. Making it again today because it was so good!

The first time I made this, I followed the recipe and it was very good. The second time I decided to double the spices as our family is a bit spicy. :) I also added finely chopped carrots and celery when sautéing the onion and pasta. This is one of the best rice recipes ever. My husband loves it. I made the entire batch so we can fry eggs and put them on top of the rice for breakfast. Yum

I followed the recipe closely. The only thing that was a bit off was the oven temp and time. At 450 degrees F the dish was fully cooked in 40 minutes. Chef John says 1 hour 10 minutes. But it could be my oven temp is off. Otherwise, this was such a delish dinner. My husband raved about it.

This is a great recipe. The spice mix is also great for soups/stews. The only modification I made was to add 1/2 tsp of hot paprika and 1/2 tsp smoked paprika.

The flavor of the chicken was delicious and it was so moist and tender. The only changes I made was to add the following to the spice mixture: 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, 1 Teaspoon dried tarragon, ½ Teaspoon Hot paprika, 1 Teaspoon Smoked paprika, ½ Teaspoon ground nutmeg. Mixed all dried spices in a small bowl used a mortar and pestle to break down the tarragon and rosemary. Definitely a keeper.
