Oops I forgot the butter! BUT a five star recipe regardless!! When my husband said five times while eating his piece of pie - “Man this is good!” - it’s a winner!! Made almost exactly as written but forgot the butter, and added an extra cup of rhubarb because I had it and didn’t want it to go to waste. Did not adjust the flour or sugar and it was still excellent!! Bottom crust was done, not soggy, due to the caramelized sugar/flour mixture placed on bottom of fruit. Brought back memories of my mom’s pie made with my Dad’s homegrown rhubarb. Delicious comfort food for me!!! F
Delicious! Seasoning not too spicy but just hazy enough! Bleu cheese dollop quite tasty! (I didn’t have chives so substituted finely chopped fresh rosemary. Perfect substitute.) Grilled 10 minutes each side, would reduce to 8 minutes - our barbecue must be faster.
Family loved it. I loved it because it was pretty easy to make for a fabulous flavor and presentation! Pork not dry and gravy was delicious! Only thing I would watch is the amount of Montreal Steak Seasoning. I sprinkled directly from bottle so I’m not sure if I used amount called for or more It was too salty for my taste but since it was my error and everyone else loved it, I’m giving the recipe a 5 star. (But if you tend to just sprinkle seasoning without measuring, be careful about not adding too much.)
This is a dip, not a dressing. The corn starch makes it gelatinous. I made as recipe stated and it tasted like watered down peanut butter. There was also not really any other flavor to spice it up to make it taste “Thai”. Disappointed- but will use it for my grand babies for their veggie sticks it was so bland. I just don’t understand the other five star reviews?
So so easy! As suggested in other reviews, used a Turkey bag, added fresh garlic and whole cloves to broth. This ham was moister and tastier than any other ham we’ve had. Three days later, my husband is still saying how good the ham was! It was savory not sweet. We’ll definitely make this again!
This is a crowd pleaser! Made it for my daughter’s birthday “cake” and it looked quite impressive! Made it mostly as recipe said. My eggs were small and I used 12 with some half and half added. Other reviews said too much bread, but I think too little liquid. A little dry still after adding more eggs and half/half. So next time I will increase the half/half/egg mixture to make it more moist, and maybe decrease cooking time. The topping and caramel makes this a dessert in my opinion. The pumpkin flavor was just right in my opinion, not too overpowering. Overall, a pretty yummy recipe!!
