Like so many reviewers I cut the sugar in the pie to 1 cup, used a heaping 1/3 cup of flour for filling and reduced the topping by about 1/3. I used half brown sugar and half white for the crumble sugar. I also used 1 additional cup of strawberries for a deep dish pie plate. My boyfriend says it’s the best pie he’s ever had. Delicious!

I used butter instead of shortening, turned the dough out onto lightly floured surface. Formed to 1” thick using a pastry dough knife and cut into rounds with a 2”round pastry cutter. Made 9. Loved this recipe. Delicious!

This frosting is easy and tastes great! I cut the recipe in half for 12 cupcakes and it was more than enough.
