I really liked it, but because I made some slight changes, rate it a 4. I did what others did and added cream cheese in the fruit mixture. I also added cinnamon in the original sauce, as well as sprinkled it on top right before baking. I did not put almonds on due to allergies. I've made it with the larger tortilla and a smaller size. I like the smaller size tortilla better. Easier to fit in the baking square, as well as better size proportions. It is really yummy with some whipped cream at the end. Made them as a new dessert for Christmas dinner, with my in-laws. It was a hit! (Thank you for those brownie points with my MIL!) Also took them to work. Everyone loves them.
It turned out to be a thicker bread than expected. Still pretty good though! If you want more of a sourdough taste, I recommend adding more starter. The sourdough taste was there, but not as much as I like. The second time around I added more starter for my tasting.
Wow! it was SO juicy! My husband kept asking over and over, are you sure it will not dry out? It was so juicy, it literally fell apart. I used the butter and olive oil, combined. I also used some sage & garlic cloves, as well as the baby carrots (didn't have to chop them!). Wow, will do this recipe over and over and over.........best turkey I've ever had. Then I used some of the juice to make my potatoes (which my in-laws raved over....thank you for those happy points with my in-laws!!!).
I rolled the apples in cinnamon and powdered sugar before putting on the dough. I'd also use 3 pie crusts, just to be safe. Someone else mentioned that the sauce carmelized on the apples and were hard to get out of the pan, so I poured the sauce over the apples after they were fully cooked. They were SO GOOD. I made them for my in-laws and they were a hit :) (thank you for those bonus points!!!).
