Quite literally halved all ingredients, weighing everything with a digital scale. Our mix-ins were butterscotch chips and dried cranberries. I was very lazy and made this as a one-bowl recipe. I melted the butter in the microwave with the sugars, then followed the rest of the directions. The only thing I might change would be to spin the oats in a blender or food processor just a bit so the bite would not be as “rustic” if you get my meaning ;) Helpful (0) Queen Bee reviewed Milly Suazo-Martinez’s Milly's Oatmeal Brownies Recipe. November 2024 Worth the effort Family favorite A keeper! Great flavors Easy to follow My family loves these oatmeal brownies. I've made them several times with no changes except for adding different stir ins. This time I made them without raisins, but I added caramel chips and butterscotch morsels. I also added 1/2 cup of chopped hazelnuts, because I was out of walnuts. So amazingly good!! Thank you Milly! Helpful (0) LoyalCup4911 reviewed Milly Suazo-Martinez’s Milly's Oatmeal Brownies Recipe. October 2024 A keeper! Family favorite Helpful (0) SwiftRibs6016 reviewed Milly Suazo-Martinez’s Milly's Oatmeal Brownies Recipe. July 2024 Made these for a tailgate— they’re fine. I loooove oatmeal chocolate chip so yummy! Didn’t do the raisins bc it was for a crowd of haters, and also had to forego walnuts due to a friend’s nut allergy, however still pretty yummy! I am a sweet treat lover yet this was still a little too sweet imo. I added some flaky salt on top and that helped w the sweetness. One thing that is super important for anyone attempting this: it takes WAY LONGER to bake. In 20-25 minutes you’ll get a beautiful golden color, but it will be reeeeally underdone. Wiggling like jello when I went to take it out. I ended up having to put them back in with foil on top for an additional 10-15 minutes. Be prepared for 30-35 min bake time!!Otherwise pretty yummy! 7.5/10 Helpful (0) Personal Recipes 99 see all Butternut Squash Soup with Marsala and Thyme Chicken Tagine with Dried Cranberries 2 Ratings Brazo Gitano de Guayaba (Jelly Roll with Guava) 1 Rating Milly's Cornbread Stuffing Caldo Tlalpeño Granitos 1 Rating Ratings & Reviews 53 see all Brazo Gitano de Guayaba (Jelly Roll with Guava) 04/10/2022 This recipe shines due to its simplicity. Change the filling to your liking -- but guava is one of the best!! I make 2-3 batches at once and keep it in a large mason jar in the refrigerator. In my experience, it has kept very well for a few months. I think the longest I kept one was 6 months and it was fine, but I would say that would be the max. Helpful (0) The Best Thai Coconut Soup 09/22/2012 Excellent soup!!! Thanks for sharing it! As good Or better than the restaurant variety. I didn't use curry because it's not my favorite flavor (plus I wanted it to be whiter in color). So good. Helpful (1) Deep Fried Corn Meal Sticks (Sorullitos de Maiz) with Dipping Sauce 08/17/2012 Absolutely fabulous!! I have been making sorullitos for years and experimented with the proportions with varying results, so I wanted to try this recipe. I am very happy to report that the particular ratio of ingredients here is SPOT ON. If you are looking for a sorullito that is crunchy outside and tender soft on the inside, with a taste on the sweeter side, THIS IS IT!!! (but of course you can reduce the sugar and increase the salt a bit if you want it to have more of a savory taste). I did put a stick of extra sharp cheddar cheese inside of each piece for an extra YUMMMM Thanks for the recipe Marisa!!! Helpful (43) Chicken Pa Nang 08/16/2012 Very yummy!! I can't have spicy foods and used a mild curry instead of the red, that's why the sauce in my pictures looks whiter. I also seasoned the chicken *lightly* before cooking it and then adjusted the salt level at the end. Helpful (2)
