If I’m making a Costco run, I’ll almost always pick up one of the wholesale club’s rotisserie chickens. The Costco rotisserie chicken is beloved for its low price (it’s been $5 for decades) as well as its juicy, well-seasoned meat. But that’s not the only ready-to-eat Costco chicken product that’s worth purchasing. The club has experimented with different uses of the rotisserie chicken in wraps and sandwiches, but there’s a product that's been lurking on the heated shelves the rotisserie chicken sits on.
According to fans online, the Costco chicken wings are worth a try. In a Reddit thread, a commenter said they found the wings near the rotisserie chicken, and it cost them just about $13.50 for two pounds of wings.
Costco’s Ready-to-Eat Chicken Wings
Comments in the thread have convinced us that these wings are worth a try. One commenter said, “Those are DELICIOUS. I ate half of them in the parking lot.” Others similarly gave them a thumbs up, with one commenter even saying, “I prefer this to the rotisserie chicken.”
The one issue that people brought up is that they don’t reheat as well as they’d like. Luckily, there were plenty of suggestions for reheating the wings. Many commenters recommended tossing the wings in the air fryer to reheat and adding a bit more sauce to them, and a few people recommended grilling the wings on either side for a few minutes to perk them back up.
Of course, some commenters weren’t convinced that the price was worth it. One said, “I always feel bad picking these up since the rotisserie is $5 for more meat and variety.” Another said, “The great thing about the rotisserie is my family likes different parts so the kids all get what they like the first night, then there’s typically breast meat left over for tacos or quesadillas or salad or whatever the next night. For $5 that’s tough to beat.”
However, if you're intrigued at the possibilities of this ready-to-eat item and are okay paying a bit more for the convenience, they’re worth a try.
