Gatorade Launches First-Ever Mystery Flavor

When a food with an aura of mystery surrounding it enters the scene, it can be good or bad. “Mystery meat” at a school lunch? Bad. Mystery flavor of a product we already love, such as Pop-Tarts or Sour Patch Kids? Good. Or at the very least, it promises more potential than mystery meat. This is why we’re excited that Gatorade has released the brand’s first-ever mystery flavor.

The new limited-edition flavor will reportedly be available in major markets the first week of September, though a contest was announced beginning August 14. Gatorade is challenging customers to guess what the flavor is. You can guess what the flavor is and potentially win daily “Mystery Prizes” such as a Gatorade sideline towel, Gatorade bottle, or Gatorade squeeze bottle. If your guess is correct, you may even win the grand prize: your choice of tickets to Super Bowl LVIII or the College Football National Championship.

If you are the big winner, the experience includes airfare for you and a guest to either Las Vegas, NV for the Super Bowl or Houston, TX for the NCAA College Football National Championship along with hotel accommodations and cash for ground transportation, meals, swag, and of course tickets to the big game. 

The whole promotion runs now until 1/30/2024, but the grand prize sweepstakes ends a bit earlier on 11/05/2023. Gatorade’s official sweepstakes rules note that “A total of two (2) Grand Prize Sweepstakes Winners will be selected in random drawings on or about November 5, 2023, from among all eligible entries received, one (1) winner selected from each of the two (2) Grand Prize Pool Options from among all eligible entries received for each prize pool.” That means if you want a shot at the prize, get sipping. 

Commenters on food influencer @Markie_devo’s Instagram are already tossing out guesses, saying, “I would love seeing a cotton candy flavor,” and, “Probably coconut flavor as brands tend to make that the mystery flavor.” To enter your own guess, you’ll need to create an account and enter your guess through Gatorade’s website.
