Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 10 servings

  • Ā½ cup packed brown sugar

  • 8 tablespoons butter

  • Ā½ cup gold rum (such as Bacardi GoldĀ®)

  • Ā¼ cup dark molasses

  • 3 tablespoons spicy mustard

  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar

  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Combine brown sugar, butter, rum, molasses, mustard, and cider vinegar in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring constantly, until sugar has melted and the glaze has thickened, about 8 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Tips

Cook's Notes

For a darker glaze, use dark brown sugar instead of light.

To use glaze, apply to reheated cooked ham, and heat for an additional 15 minutes.
