Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings

  • 1 (16 ounce) package farfalle (bow tie) pasta

  • 6 slices bacon

  • 1 cup prepared ranch dressing

  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

  • 1 carrot, peeled and diced

  • 1 stalk celery, diced

  • 1 red onion, diced

Directions

  1. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a boil. Cook pasta according to package directions until slightly firm. Drain, rinsing with cold water until cool. Transfer to a large bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.

  2. Meanwhile, cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain bacon on a paper towel-lined plate. Chop when cool.

  3. Combine dressing, bacon, Parmesan cheese, carrot, celery, and red onion in a large bowl. Fold in pasta to coat. Refrigerate to blend flavors, about 2 hours.

Cook's Note

Lettuce or cabbage can also be substituted for the pasta in this recipe for a lighter summer salad with crunch.
