Original recipe (1X) yields 50 servings 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 pinch ground cloves ½ cup softened butter 1 cup packed brown sugar 1 egg ½ teaspoon vanilla extract Directions Mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves together in a bowl. Cream butter and brown sugar together with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth; beat egg and vanilla extract into the butter mixture. Add the flour mixture in small amounts to the butter mixture, beating each addition until blended. Form the dough into a ball, wrap with plastic wrap, and refrigerate, at least 1 hour or up to 3 days. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease baking sheets.
