Easy, Breezy, Cheesy Stuffed Bread (Domino's Copycat Recipe)

4.5
(14)

Just like Domino's, this cheesy stuffed bread is crispy on top and chewy and very cheesy inside, but beware — it's very dangerous as it's hard to resist! I fell in love with this bread at Domino's and have been searching for a comparable recipe. After some trial and error, I came up with this, and it's pretty darn close! Plus it won't cost me $12 for food, delivery, and tip when I get a late-night craving and my toddler is fast asleep. Serve with marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings

  • 1 (11 ounce) package refrigerated French bread dough (such as Pillsbury)

  • 4 tablespoons melted butter, divided

  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend

  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon shredded Cheddar cheese

  • 1 pinch dried parsley

  • 1 pinch garlic powder

  • 1 pinch onion powder

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a large baking sheet.

  2. Roll dough on a flat work surface into a large rectangle. Brush with 3 tablespoons melted butter and sprinkle with cornmeal. Flip dough over and scatter mozzarella cheese, Mexican cheese blend, and 1 cup Cheddar cheese on top. Fold dough in half and press edges together with your fingers to seal.

  3. Brush remaining 1 tablespoon butter over dough and lightly sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and remaining 1 tablespoon Cheddar cheese, then sprinkle with parsley, garlic powder, and onion powder. Make shallow cuts every inch across the top with a knife so you can easily pull the bread apart after baking.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven until bread is golden brown and cheese is bubbly, about 25 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes before pulling strips apart.

Cook’s Note

The beauty of this recipe is that it can be tinkered with to suit your individual tastes. Add crumbled bacon and/or jalapeños (or your other favorite ingredients) to the cheese for an extra kick.

You can use your own bread dough recipe if you prefer. I recommended using Pillsbury dough because it's fast and has worked out well for me. Follow the directions on the package if you use a different brand.
