Despite having "shake" in the name, Shake Shack has become known for its high-quality burgers, fries, and chicken sandwiches. But, lest you forget, the restaurant chain was founded with milkshakes right there in the name. And it shows in their quality—in fact, Shake Shack's version took the top spot in our fast-food milkshake taste test, even beating out Wendy's beloved Frosty. Its first-place ranking can (at least partially) be credited to Shake Shake's frozen custard—a richer, tastier version of soft serve.

Now, that winning soft serve is being put to use in not one, but two new delicious iterations currently in the testing phase. Here's what you need to know about Shake Shack's new sundaes.

Shake Shack Introduces 2 New Sundaes

Shake Shack is expanding its dessert options beyond shakes, floats, and frozen custard to another classic soda fountain specialty: the good old-fashioned sundae. The restaurant has two versions, each with cake, frozen custard, toppings, and a mini waffle-cone garnish (I recently learned that some call this a "party hat," which made my week).

The first sundae is a Strawberry Shortcake Sundae, which layers scoops of Shake Shack's house-made vanilla frozen custard atop vanilla sponge cake, topped with real strawberry sauce, rainbow sprinkles, whipped cream, and of course, a cherry on top (plus that "party hat" cone).

The second offering is a sundae called the Shack Attack Sundae, which features chocolate frozen custard, dark chocolate cake, fudge sauce, brownie chunks, and whipped cream, all topped with brownie crunch and a mini waffle cone.

As of now, these sundaes are running as a test in select locations in five states. Hopefully, if the sundaes are a success, they'll come to Shack locations nationwide (like other fast-food desserts have in the past). If you can't wait to get your hands on a decked-out sundae, you can try one (or both!) while supplies last at one of the following locations:
