Food News and Trends Your Kids' Lunches Probably Aren't This Cool By Allrecipes Editorial Team Published on April 1, 2017 Close Mealtime doubles as playtime when you're four-year-old Jacob Mohmedi, because these super creative works of food art created by his mom, Laleh, look like they're about to jump off the plate and come to life. What started out as a very well-received lion pancake has evolved into food-ified versions of Winnie the Pooh dressed as the Easter bunny, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum up to their old tricks, Scar (from The Lion King) giving some serious side-eye, and so much more. The two make quite a little team—Jacob provides the character inspiration and then Laleh researches the character and figures out what ingredients to use. And then of course we all ohh and ahh when she posts the pictures to Jacob's Food Diaries Instagram feed, while Jacob likely eats with delight. According to this article from Martha Stewart, Laleh assures us that Jacob is not a picky eater—her husband is a chef, after all—so she says he will pretty much eat anything. But they both seem to be having a little too much fun with the souped up plates, and we definitely can't blame them. Laleh has gotten into a pretty efficient rhythm, whipping the creations up about 2 to 3 times a week. "They don't take much longer than making a normal fresh meal," she says. "To save time I prepare all the cold elements such as the features whilst the hot elements are cooking." And now here's the part where we just stop talking so you can marvel at some of Laleh's creations. The really are quite impressive!
