It's a pretty good time to be Popeyes. Their chicken sandwich single-handedly started a war, and even if one popular side has disappeared, they're still pretty high up on the list of places to get chicken.
Now, those who eschew the sandwich for something a bit more bite-sized will be glad to hear that Popeyes is testing out some chicken nuggets at select locations. These fowl hunks of goodness are made from juicy white meat chicken breast pieces, that are then hand-battered and breaded in buttermilk before hitting the fryer. It's essentially everything you already know and love about Popeyes' chicken, now in a smaller, more portable form.
Right now, you may be wondering why chicken nuggets weren't already a key component of the Popeyes menu. As it turns out, they were on nationwide menus for one brief, shining moment in 2012 but have largely disappeared since. They did venture into popcorn chicken in 2017, but it's clear that their R&D efforts shifted gears to the realm of chicken sandwiches soon thereafter.

From what we know so far, it looks like Popeyes is pumping out these nuggets in significant quantities. You can start with eight or twelve a la carte nuggets if you want a little taste, but buying in bulk units of 24, 36, and even 48 is an option.
While those nuggets aren't quite ready for a nationwide rollout just yet, they're supposedly being tested at Popeyes locations in Connecticut, Ohio, Arkansas, and Texas. So if you live around there, give it a go.
It's hard to say if Popeyes' latest move would launch some kind of chicken nugget arms race, but you can't entirely rule it out. Your move, every other chicken restaurant.
