A New Cheez-It Flavor Is Hitting Shelves Soon

One thing about me is that I’ll always be a Cheez-It lover. Need some extra credentials? I literally went to the Cheez-It gas station in Joshua Tree—that had a real live Cheez-It pump. If that’s not dedication to the snack, I don’t know what is.

So, naturally, I’m well versed in all things Cheez-It, especially my personal favorite, the White Cheddar Grooves. Though, I’m known to enjoy everything from the Extra Toasty to the new, incredibly good Extra Crunchy crackers—so I don’t really have strict favorites.

Knowing that Cheez-It just launched its Extra Crunchy Bold Cheddar and Snap’d varieties, I didn’t think the brand would have a new innovation so soon. So, imagine my surprise when I saw an all-new flavor announcement from Cheez-It’s official Instagram.

Cheez-It Launches Puff’d Cheese Pizza

“Mama Mia! It’s Cheez-It Puff’d Cheese Pizza,” the Instagram post read.

Yep, Cheez-It just quietly announced it's launching a pizza flavor—and, shockingly, it won’t be in original Cheez-It form. The pizza flavor will be sold as Cheez-It Puff’d, the puffed-up, airy, poppable crackers that are crunchy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth cheesy on the inside.

We’d like to think that the Cheez-It Puff’d Cheese Pizza flavor will have that same crunchy outside with a burst of cheese and tomato flavor on the inside—much like the bold transition from savory pizza to crunchy crust.

This isn’t the first pizza flavor Cheez-It has ever rolled out. The brand used to offer a now-discontinued Cheese Pizza flavor in its OG crackers. But also, before the Cheez-It x Taco Bell collab was a thing, Cheez-It teamed up with Pizza Hut to prove that cheese pizza Cheez-Its are the real deal. The brands launched a stuffed Cheez-It Pizza, which was four jumbo squares topped with the same Cheez-It taste and stuffed with cheese or cheese and pepperoni and served with marinara. The combo might not have lasted long, but it sure did prove that pizza and Cheez-Its go hand in hand.

While we don’t know much else about the flavor, we do know that Cheez-It Puff’d Cheese Pizza will be arriving on shelves in March. And they’ll likely be available at all major retailers where Cheez-It crackers are sold.

I just hope this new flavor heads to stores in early March so I can try the crunchy snack ASAP.
