The cubed squash can be added after toasting the rice, or steamed about 50% then added.Add 1/2 t of rubbed sage about halfway through the recipe.

OK with tweaks Needs more flavor
Rather than bread and fry the chicken, I grilled it. Sauté mushrooms with a bit of garlic and thyme and reserve liquid; sprinkle some lemon verbena over first layer of mushrooms. Top with thinly sliced Provolone cheese before baking. Created a creamier sauce with the chicken and mushroom broths and serve over basmati rice.

Yum! Added a bit of salt free seasoning with lemon to give it a bit of brightness. So good. I’d attach a picture, but all you’d get is empty bowls!

I didn’t have any low sodium soy sauce, so I used regular. Low sodium is definitely the way to go. Regular made this a smidge on the salty side..I’ll def use low the next time i make this. Over all, SO GOOD. I added leftover boneless pork chops to the pan to heat after the sauce reduced a bit. Heated the chops and added just enough flavor to the pork.Have a loaf of great bread available to soak up extra sauce!

I like a bit more kick, so I add 1 T of cream horseradish and a bit less watery, so I skip the buttermilk. 1 packet of Stevia works for the 1/3 c sugar if you want less white sugar in your recipes.

I love this recipe. It's become a staple Sunday morning breakfast. I prefer sage breakfast sausage to maple, but that's just me. I'll usually let the rue cook to blonde rather than brown to create a thicker gravy.Garnish with a little parsley!

Like so many people, I love these pecans. They’re like crack. And like many people, I had to fiddle with the recipe. Reduce the sugar to 1/3 c, add 1/4 t cayenne, add 2t vanilla to the wet mix. This works with 1/2 c pecans without adding extra ingredients. I use Penzeys Apple Pie spice in place of the cinnamon (2 different cinnamons, nutmeg, mace and cloves).
