Marge's Fudge

A delicious creamy fudge recipe came from my friend Karen's mom-Marge. It uses less sugar than most recipes and is easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups of sugar

  • 1 1/2 cubes of Parkay margarine (3/4 cup)

  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk

  • Dash of salt

  • 2 tsp. of vanilla

  • 12 oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1 large jar (13 oz.) marshmallow creme

  • 3/4 cup of chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Bring sugar, margarine, salt, and milk to a full rolling boil at medium heat in a medium sized saucepan and boil for 5 minutes stirring constantly. (234 degrees on candy thermometer)

  2. Remove from heat. Add vanilla if desired, a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, and chopped nuts; mixing well until blended.

  3. Pour into a buttered 9x13 pan and refrigerate.

  4. Cut into (78) 1 1/2 inch squares.
