I didn't feel like digging in my spice box for cinnamon so I used pumpkin pie spice. Very, very delicious. I think I might try using half whole wheat flour in the future and maybe cutting back on sugar by using brown sugar instead. With some tweaking, this will be my go-to zucchini bread recipe! Helpful (1) Pumpkin Bean Soup 11/29/2011 I followed the reviewers advice and added curry & ginger. Delicious! I didn't have tomato sauce on hand so I used a can of diced tomatoes and a shot of tomato paste. Fantastic way to use up leftover ingredients from Thanksgiving! Helpful (4) Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie 11/28/2011 I've made this pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas for three years now. It's a favorite in our family. I've used both bourbon and whiskey. I often mix dark and milk chocolate chips. The recipe is great as written - the only variation depends on the type of alcohol. Strong whiskeys and bourbons (like Jack Daniels) need to be cut back to 3 tbls. Smoother, lighter alcohol (like Gentleman Jack) as written. Helpful (4) Quinoa Tabbouleh 09/20/2010 I was out of bulgar wheat and was glad to find a good grain substitute. I normally don't add carrot to my tabbouleh. I actually finely decided my carrot, and it provided some sweetness and a nice crunch. Good recipe. I can see myself making it again. Helpful (6) No-Cream Pasta Primavera 08/16/2010 I was looking for a great way to use the veggies in my garden & CSA box so I omitted the green beans & asparagus and doubled the other veggies. I also added extra garlic, onions, salt, & balsamic because we love those flavors. Fantastic recipe! Will make again. Helpful (3) Crookneck Squash and Tomatoes 08/10/2010 We have an overabundance of squash & tomatoes thanks to my CSA & home garden. This is a FANTASTIC way to get us out of our squash rut. Unbelievably easy and uber tasty! I used diced yellow onions instead of green, and it was awesome. Helpful (5)
