There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it: Reese’s shapes are a superior candy. Every Reese’s fan knows the chocolate-peanut butter ratio of a seasonal Reese’s shape beats the regular ol' cup any day of the week.
The only disappointing thing about the shapes is that you can usually only buy them during a holiday cycle. Traditionally, Reese’s shapes are released for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter. This year, however, we did luck out with Reese’s first-ever summer shape—Reese’s Medals—timed with the 2024 Summer Olympics.
While we still aren’t living in a world where Reese’s shapes are available all year long—though our fingers are crossed the new Peanut shape will become permanent—we’re getting one step closer this year.
For the first time ever, Hershey’s is selling its beloved pumpkin-shaped Halloween Reese’s in the summer. It may seem like brands are constantly one season ahead—or two, if you’re International Delight’s new “Home Alone”-inspired holiday creamers—but this is the earliest Reese’s Pumpkins have ever been available.

Hershey's Is Selling Reese's Pumpkins Starting in July
It’s no secret that Reese’s peanut butter cups are America’s favorite Halloween candy year after year, and now, they might be the best-selling summer candy, too. Starting July 23, chocolate-peanut butter fans can order their Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins from the Hershey’s store while supplies last.
If those Reese’s Direct from the Factory drops are any indication, supplies will not last long at all. And, let’s be honest, Halloween fans are even more obsessed than normal Reese’s fans—just look at most of The Home Depot’s new 2024 Halloween decor collection selling out in minutes. So, if you want to add sweets to your Summerween party, or simply want to enjoy the beloved Reese’s shape after the medals leave shelves, you’ll need to act fast.
Even if you don’t get your hands on the pumpkin-shaped chocolate peanut butter cups now, don’t worry, they’ll likely be in stores before you know it, so you can stock up soon. Or restock because, who are we kidding, this bag will barely make it to the end of summer.
