Allrecipes' editorial guidelines Published on October 20, 2023 Close ‘Tis the season...to not know what season it is. Is it fall, is it time for Turkey Day, or should we already be listening to holiday music? Truthfully, we don’t know—and apparently, neither do some of our favorite brands. Because while M&M’s is announcing it will deliver you free candy on Halloween, Costco is already rolling out (and selling out of) its eggnog. And it seems our top snack cake makers are in the holiday spirit, too, because hot on the heels of Little Debbie’s announcement that it’s releasing new holiday ice creams at Walmart and bringing back its beloved holiday treats, Hostess has just announced its holiday lineup, too. Hostess Hostess Is Bringing Back Holiday Cakes This year, Hostess will bring back three of its fan-favorite holiday cakes, including the Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Donettes, Holiday Chocolate Drizzle Baby Bundtes, and Holiday CupCakes. The cakes will return to retailers nationwide for a limited time starting in November so, unlike Little Debbie, Hostess will actually wait until after Halloween to start ringing in the holidays. Hostess Hostess’ Holiday CupCakes are a little different than its traditional cakes. The holiday version features a plain yellow cake with crème filling, white icing, and red sprinkles. The Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Donettes are chocolate cake doughnuts that get coated in a marshmallow-flavored glaze to taste just like the popular winter beverage. Last but certainly not least, there are Holiday Chocolate Drizzle Baby Bundts, which are essentially the same chocolate-drizzled mini chocolate cakes you know and love—but in a holiday box. Hostess Is Launching New Holiday Merch In addition to the returning faves, Hostess is also launching a new line of holiday merch to coincide with the seasonal snacks. The brand will release new holiday ornaments and socks just in time to fulfill your stocking stuffer and white elephant gift needs. That’s right—you can hang Donettes bags, CupCakes, Twinkies, SnoBalls, and HoHos on your Christmas tree this year. Hostess The Donettes Bag ornament will be available for $10 at Cracker Barrel stores, while the CupCakes ornament will retail for $6 at Walmart. The Hostess set, which includes a Twinkie, CupCake, SnoBall, and HoHo ornament, will be sold exclusively at TJ Maxx stores. Additionally, a two-pack of Twinkie-themed holiday socks can be found at TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores for $4. Whether you’ll be eating your Hostess snacks, hanging them on your tree, wearing them around the house, or all three, it’s safe to say that Hostess is making this holiday season extra sweet this year.
