An Oreo Fan-Favorite Product Is Back at Walmart for the First Time in 4 Years

But only for a limited time!

When a product has been around as long as Oreo has, it will of course have seen a lot of flavors, collaborations, and iterations that have since been discontinued. Oreo has had more than 100 years to create new cookies—and ways to use its cookies. So, of course, they can’t all stick around for forever.

Just take a look at last week’s Oreo news. The brand is releasing a new line of baking mixes and frostings with Betty Crocker, thus saying goodbye to its past line of boxed cake mix with Pillsbury’s Funfetti. But, it’s not always an “out with the old” mentality—especially when there’s a product that’s so nostalgic fans beg for its return.

What’s the latest Oreo product to get a second chance? Post’s Mega Stuf Oreo O’s cereal.

Post Brings Back Mega Stuf Oreo O's Cereal

Post Mega Stuf Oreo O's cereal

Post introduced Oreo O’s in the ‘90s, and it was an instant hit for children everywhere—cookie cereal, plus a bowl of Reese’s Puffs, equaled the best Saturday morning ever.

Post’s Oreo O’s was a chocolate cereal made with real Oreo cookies that was served as the chocolate sandwich cookie was intended to be eaten: doused in milk.

Oreo O’s was briefly discontinued in the early ‘00s but made a triumphant return in 2017. The long-awaited comeback was punctuated by the introduction of Mega Stuf Oreo O’s in 2019. Just like the Mega Stuf Oreo, the cereal had an even sweeter flavor thanks to the addition of mini marshmallows.

Post’s Mega Stuf Oreo O’s was short-lived, only selling for a limited through 2020. However, after four years, the cereal is finally returning. Mega Stuf Oreo O’s—plus Chips Ahoy! cereal—are heading to Walmart stores nationwide this month.

Chips Ahoy! cereal, which features the flavors of Chips Ahoy! chocolate chip cookies, had a similar fate as Mega Stuf Oreo O’s. It launched in 2018 as a limited release and hasn’t been seen since.

Now, the two resurrected cereals can only be found at Walmart—where they’re available in family-sized boxes—while supplies last. Considering that we haven’t seen these cereals in years—and they had a decent-sized fanbase—we’d venture a guess that the supplies won’t last long. While we can hope that Post will make more boxes, the safest bet is to stock up on these tasty cereals the next time you’re grocery shopping at Walmart.
