Sonic Just Added 2 New Burgers to Its Menu

We know the Sonic Drive-In as the car-side restaurant that has the best drink concoctions, onion rings, and, apparently, tater tots—thank you, Reba McEntire, for letting us in on that one. But the restaurant is so much more than just a place to enjoy a “girl dinner” of a Sonic Blast and fried appetizer while you watch the carhops deliver food to other customers. Sonic also serves up fan-favorite coney dogs, breakfast sandwiches, and hamburgers—McEntire being a lover of those, as well.

While Sonic has five standard burger offerings, the restaurant tends to add a rotating seasonal menu to its lineup. Typically, the menu includes one new hamburger that's available for a few months at a time—like August’s Bacon Peppercorn Ranch Grilled Cheese Burger. 

Now, Sonic has announced the burger that will take that fall offering’s place, and we customers are in for a real treat because this month, it’s not just one burger joining the menu; it’s two.

Sonic Introduces 2 New Burgers

This week, Sonic introduced the new Hickory BBQ Cheeseburger and brought back the Garlic Butter Bacon Cheeseburger, which was available for a short period in 2022. Both burgers are already available at Sonic restaurants nationwide and will stay on the menu through the end of the year. 

Sonic’s brand new Hickory BBQ Cheeseburger is topped with Hickory BBQ sauce, American cheese, onions, pickles, lettuce, and mayo on a toasted bun. Its returning Garlic Butter Bacon Cheeseburger is topped with garlic butter, American cheese, bacon, mayo, and grilled onions on a toasted bun. 

Both burgers are available on their own or as combos with your favorite side and drink. And if you’re willing to opt for a different beverage other than your tried-and-true, Sonic is also releasing a brand-new style of drinks for the first time in four years.

The restaurant is adding new Sonic Rechargers with Red Bull to its menu. Sonic’s Rechargers with Red Bull will be available in three flavors, Dragon Fruit, Blood Orange, and Twisted Lime—and each flavor will feature Sprite, the flavor additive, Red Bull, and Sonic’s classic nugget ice. However, you can also get creative with the flavors and customize them by adding extra flavors, fresh fruit, sweet cream, and even candy.

If the burgers and drinks aren’t enough to get you to the restaurant—don’t worry, Sonic also has a new dessert. This month, Sonic rolled out its new Trick or Treat Blast, which is your choice of vanilla or chocolate soft served mixed with Heath pieces, M&M’s Minis, and Oreo cookies, to menus nationwide. 

Yup, that means this month, you can have an all-new burger-drink combo and dessert from Sonic—talk about a three-course meal we can get behind.
