Test Kitchen Tips

This recipe was developed in our test kitchen. Check out some tips and tricks from culinary experts that might make the cooking process easier:

  • If you do not have a food processor, chop pie filling on a cutting board until in 1/4-inch chunks.
  • Recipe tester Kathryn Hendrix used a ruler and pizza cutter to measure out the ¼-inch lattice top strips.
  • You can make smaller or larger cookies depending on what size of cutter you have (or your personal preference). Smaller cookies may bake more quickly and larger cookies may take longer to bake. Allow an additional 2 to 3 minutes for larger cookies.
