There was lots of chatter about the price possibly going up soon. With all the recent changes happening at Costco lately (such as requiring membership to eat at the food court), a change in the price of the iconic hot dog combo offering wouldn't be surprising. However, when the former chief financial officer Richard Galanti was asked about the possible price change in an interview with Bloomberg, he said, "It's probably safe for a while,” which felt a little up in the air. Now, it seems as though Costco fans may have a reason to breathe a sigh of relief after the new CFO spoke out about the hot dog’s fate. The Future of Costco’s $1.50 Hot Dog Combo Meal It has finally been confirmed that the iconic $1.50 hot dog combo meal at Costco’s food court will remain the same price as it has been since 1985. According to CBS News, Costco’s new CFO Gary Millerchip recently spoke with Wall Street analysts about the warehouse store and its hot dog’s price saying, "To clear up some recent media speculation, I also want to confirm the $1.50 hot dog price is safe.” This is great news for Costco fans everywhere. Last year, when the company brought back the food court onions to top off the hot dogs, customers were ecstatic. This latest confirmation has many taking to social media to express their relief. The next time you head to Costco, you can rest assured that the beloved hot dog meal is still as affordable as ever (which means you can also treat yourself to the frozen dessert that just returned to the menu).
