Dunkin' Has a New Spring Menu We Can't Wait to Try

It may still be winter, but Dunkin' is ready for spring, and it's bringing its spring menu to customers a month ahead of schedule. Starting today, Dunkin' has new menu items on top of the new DunKings menu it introduced just a little over a week ago. 

That menu featured Ben Affleck's first official Dunkin' drink, The DunKings Iced Coffee, an iced coffee with vanilla and cream, topped with Sweet Cold Foam and cinnamon sugar. It also included DunKings Munchkins Skewers, three Munchkins on a skewer creating a coffee garnish. 

Now, it's adding six new menu items, including one it calls an "innovation in iced beverages."

Dunkin’s New Spring Menu

Dunkin’s spring menu includes three new beverages and three new food items, and all of them sound like great additions to the menu that already includes hot and iced coffees, sandwiches, muffins, and, of course, donuts.  

• Churro Donut: A deep-fried donut rolled in cinnamon sugar for a sweet, crunchy exterior.
• Breakfast Empanada: A hot empanada filled with scrambled eggs, sausage, and Cheddar cheese inside a flaky, butter-rich crust.
• Banana Chocolate Chip Bread: Just time for National Banana Bread Day on Feb. 23, Dunkin' releases this prepackaged banana bread studded with chocolate chips. (On Feb. 23, Dunkin' Rewards members who buy the banana bread will earn 250 bonus points.)
• Churro Signature Latte: Available iced or hot and perfect to pair with the churro donut, the latte combines espresso with a sweet churro flavor, topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a dusting of cinnamon sugar.
• Cinnamon Vanilla Coffee: Available iced or hot, this coffee blends Dunkin's original coffee and cream with notes of churro and vanilla flavors.

While those menu items are all new, none qualify as an "innovation." But Dunkin' believes this next new item does. 

SPARKD' Energy by Dunkin' is a new sparkling, iced drink made with vitamins, minerals, and a kick of caffeine that comes in two flavors: Berry Burst (raspberry and strawberry flavors) and Peach Sunshine (lychee and peach flavors). It's Dunkin's answer to an energy drink crafted to offer a boost. 

Social media is already abuzz with thoughts about these new items. 

"Banana bread… I might just have to grab that," said one commenter when Instagram's Markie Devo posted about Dunkin's new spring menu. Another said, "All of this honestly looks pretty good i'm excited. Cinnamon and vanilla is always a heavenly combo too."

There was a bit of concern about the SPARKD' Energy drinks' unknown caffeine levels.

"Didn't they learn anything from Panera?" wondered one commenter, referring to the recent lawsuits claiming the caffeine amount in its Charged Lemonades made them deadly when two people died after drinking it. 

Since caffeine is one of the reasons people head to Dunkin' regularly, the brand did consider the level of caffeine for this innovation. Still, if you are caffeine sensitive, perhaps wait to find out the level in the SPARKD' Energy drinks before downing one.
