It's Official: Dunkin's Fan-Favorite Drink Is Back

There’s no denying that when restaurants announce new drinks, fans tend to get enthusiastic. They get even more excited when a favorite discontinued drink returns. Whether it’s Chik-fil-A bringing back Watermelon Mint Lemonade after six years, McDonald’s adding Hi-C Orange Lavaburst back to its soda machine, Starbucks adding new cold brews to its menu, or Dunkin' serving up Salted Caramel Cold Brews once again, fans eagerly rush to quench their thirst when a chain announces new or returning beverages.

There is one beverage that seems to get people very excited or very dismayed, depending on how they feel about the changing of seasons. Yep, it’s that time of year when a certain polarizing drink starts to get a lot of buzz—the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Pumpkin spice is now so synonymous with fall that it can be jarring for some to see it returning in the heat of summer, but for others, it’s the moment they’ve been waiting for all year. And that moment, for Dunkin' fans, happens today.

Dunkin’s New Fall Menu Includes the Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte

On the heels of Wendy’s announcing a brand-new Pumpkin Spice Frosty coming this fall, Dunkin' has announced its fall menu, which includes its super popular Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte.

Fans will be glad to find out they don’t have to wait until fall to indulge in their pumpkin-flavored faves. The menu will also include Nutty Pumpkin Coffee, a Pumpkin Cake Donut, Pumpkin Munchkins, a Pumpkin Muffin, a Maple Sugar Bacon Breakfast Sandwich, and Maple Sugar Snacking Bacon. Dunkin' is also bringing back the limited-edition Goldfish Pumpkin Spice Grahams.

Fans React to the Return of Dunkin’s Pumpkin Spice Latte

On Instagram, Dunkin' teased the return of the fall menu items by asking, “Anyone else feel a slight chill in the air?” along with a picture of an iced latte wearing boots and a flannel shirt. The comments were (mostly) positive.

“Fall begins when Dunkin says it begins,” said one commenter. “Tomorrow is a holiday and no one can say otherwise,” declared another. One fan had some pretty high hopes for what the drink could do, wishing that “Maybe pumpkin will finally bring us temperatures that feel less than 115 degrees every day!” 

Not everyone was excited about the timing of the drink’s return. The comments “It’s too early bro” and “No! No! No! Let me keep my summer" perfectly summed up the sentiments of those who think it's too early.

If you’re on the very excited “give me all the Pumpkin Spice NOW” team, we’re happy that you’ll get your latte sooner rather than later. If you’re on the very dismayed “it’s too early for Pumpkin Spice; let me just enjoy summer” team, we have a little consolation for you. The PSL and the Nutty Pumpkin Coffee don’t have to be hot.
