National Ice Cream Recall Due to Possible Listeria Includes 67 Products from 13 Brands

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall of multiple brands of ice cream. Products by Totally Cool, Inc. of Owings Mills, Maryland, are potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Products were distributed nationwide, and available in retail locations and direct delivery. Brands include Friendly’s, Abilyn’s Frozen Bakery, Hershey’s, Yelloh!, Jeni's, Cumberland Farms, The Frozen Farmer, Marco, ChipWich, AMAFruits, Taharka, Dolcezza Gelato, and LaSalle. To date, no illnesses have been reported.

Products Affected by Totally Cool Ice Cream Recall

Totally Cool has ceased production and distribution of the affected products after FDA sampling uncovered the presence of Listeria. While the company is taking preventive actions, the investigation is ongoing. The table below reflects a summary of the brands and products:

Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in children, elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
