Allrecipes' editorial guidelines Published on January 14, 2024 Close Photo: costco Costco is known for its delicious mini cakes. Sure, they may resemble a cute little cupcake, but they are anything but little. These mini cakes are bigger and heavier than your average cupcake, with each weighing around half a pound. Shoppers flock to these cakes because they are compact yet substantial and because there are so many rotating flavors to choose from. Over the past year, we've raced to the store to try everything from caramel apple to raspberry to everyone’s favorite, lemon. Now, it’s 2024, and Costco has a brand-new mini cake flavor that seems to already be nabbing a lot of attention from loyal shoppers. Costco’s New Cookies 'n Cream Mini Cakes Instagram's costcodealsonline posted a reel about Costco’s latest mini cake flavor: cookies 'n cream. The post said the new item dropped that morning at a local Costco and that many were “grabbing the samples” to try this latest mini cake flavor. Similar to other mini cakes offered at Costco, the cookies 'n cream cakes come in a package of six for just $8.99. One commenter said, “Ok fine, I guess I’m gonna do a Costco run.” Another said, “Omggggg dangerous but need to try.” One user tried the new flavor and said it was good but that "lemon is our favorite though.” That prompted someone else to agree, saying that lemon is indeed “still the best.” However, when we checked a Reddit thread for chatter about the new mini-cake flavor, everyone was talking about just how good they really were. The original poster said, “Very sweet and super moist, really great sugary frosting and just an amazing cookies and cream dessert to dive into. I didn't even make it into the car before I started eating these.” Others seemed to agree by saying that they also “can't resist.” Another person attested to the cakes' irresistibility by saying, “Bought some Saturday and they're already gone.” Neither of the posts says exactly what the mini cake is made of, but judging from the photos online, it appears to be a chocolate cake with a light creamy frosting that is sprinkled with possible chocolate cookie crumble. It looks tasty to us, and judging by these latest comments, we think it’s definitely a bakery item worth grabbing on our next Costco run. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
