Photo: Amelia Manley/Dotdash Meredith I’m impressed by the dedication Costco members have to the warehouse store’s bakery. They get super excited about returning favorites. They rush to Costco when a trusted influencer tells them there’s a new item—like green chile cornbread—and then share with each other how they’ll serve it. Just a few days ago, when Costco brought back its 3.5-pound pumpkin pie, bakery lovers were certainly excited, but I noticed that they were wondering when another favorite pumpkin bakery goodie would make its way back to the store’s shelves. Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait long. Costco Brings Back Pumpkin Streusel Muffins When Laura Lamb of Instagram’s @costcohotfinds spotted one of her returning faves, she posted a video and wrote “Pumpkin Streusel Muffins in the Costco Bakery!!! They’re FANTASTIC!!!” These are the same pumpkin baked goods that fans were asking for when the pumpkin pie returned to Costco’s shelves. They look really good in the video that Laura posted, and she confirmed that when she showcased the muffins with a “sweet crumble topping.” She said she warmed her “amazing” muffin in the microwave for 30 seconds and added some butter. “Perfect with a cup of coffee,” she told her followers, and they responded with excitement. “Yummm I wait for these all year! So good!” one exclaimed. And another confirmed, “They are soooo good! I look forward to these every year.” “Can these be frozen?” asked another. Freezing Muffins If there’s one thing we all know about Costco’s baked goods, besides the fact that they are satisfyingly delicious, is that they’re often huge, like the 4-pound Key lime pie. It makes sense that some people wish they came in smaller sizes or wonder if they can freeze portions so they don’t have to eat them all at once. The good news about these oversized muffins is that you can freeze some (or all) of them if you can’t eat them right away. Wrap each muffin individually in plastic wrap and then in a layer of foil. When you’re ready to enjoy one, remove it from the freezer and defrost it in the refrigerator or on the counter. Does the return of the pumpkin streusel muffins satisfy all fans? No. There’s always something else Costco shoppers would like to return. “The need to bring back the apple muffins,” one commenter said. And another replied, “I leave @costco weekly broken-hearted. Every time I go, I look for them.”We’re sure Costco isn’t done rolling out everything fall-inspired just yet. Perhaps, I’ll be able to tell you the apple muffins are back very soon.
